It is a guide, not a promise. The calculator starts from a model price and adjusts it for your specs and condition, then shows a range of about 8% either side of the main figure. The final offer is decided when we check the laptop in person. Battery health and cosmetic condition are the two inputs people most often get wrong, so be honest when you enter them.

When you press "Lock in this offer", we save your estimate for 7 days and give you a quote reference. We honour it if the laptop matches what you described, such as the RAM, storage, graphics card, battery health and condition. If our check finds a difference, we explain it and re-quote on the spot. You are free to say no.

The model and its release year set the starting value. After that, RAM, storage size, a dedicated graphics card, battery health and cosmetic condition move it up or down. Original accessories such as the charger, box and receipt add a small bonus, capped at a fixed amount. A worn battery or a scratched, dented body can lower the estimate noticeably.

On Windows, open Command Prompt as administrator and type powercfg /batteryreport. It saves an HTML report. Divide the full charge capacity by the design capacity to get a percentage. You can also use our Battery Health Analyzer. On a MacBook, open System Information, go to Power, and read the cycle count and condition.

Yes, but the calculator is made for working laptops. A dead board, broken screen, liquid damage or missing parts need a manual quote. Yes. You can take cash, or use the value as credit toward a laptop from our shop. Credit lets you swap in one visit instead of selling first and buying later. If you want credit, say so on WhatsApp and tell us which laptop you are looking at, so we can have it ready to see.

Both work, and the trade-offs are different. A public listing can reach more buyers, but you answer many messages, meet strangers and wait for a serious offer. A shop check is quicker and you leave with a decision the same day. Run the calculator first so you know a realistic number before you accept any offer from anyone.

Be honest and prepare the laptop. Clean the keyboard and screen, keep the original charger, box and receipt, and check the battery health before you come. Do not upgrade RAM or storage just to sell, because the value added is usually less than the part costs. A clean, complete, honest laptop is the easiest one to price well.
