You pick your laptop's main fault, its group (budget, business, gaming, workstation or MacBook) and roughly how old it is. The calculator estimates the laptop's used-market value in Pakistan and compares the middle of the repair price range with that value. Under 25% the answer is Repair. From 25% to 40% it is Marginal. At 40% or more it is Replace.

A common rule is this: if the repair costs more than about 40% of what the laptop is worth today, putting that money towards a newer laptop is usually the smarter choice. If it costs under 25%, repair is usually worth it. In between, it depends on the laptop's age, whether other parts are also getting weak, and how badly you need it back. The tool assumes a laptop loses value every year: about 14% a year for MacBooks, about 18% a year for business, gaming and workstation laptops, and about 24% a year for budget laptops. For a newer business laptop or a MacBook, a new screen is usually worth it, because the rest of the laptop is still worth much more than the panel. For a laptop that is 6 to 8 years old and budget-grade, a panel can reach 40% of its value and replacement may be the better use of the money.
